About

Growing up in a city, Micah’s fondest childhood memories are of countryside road trips with his grandparents. During these back-road adventures, he developed a love for the natural world. Rolling hills, forests, and nowheres became spaces of peace, mindfulness, and freedom.

Micah is a first-generation college student, receiving a BFA from Wright State University in Studio Art, in 2014. He continued his education at Illinois State University, where he received a MFA in Studio Art in 2017. Since completing his education, Micah has been teaching at the University of Dayton, Dayton, OH as an Adjunct Professor of Art; he teaches Foundation Drawing, Design and Color, Beginning and Advanced Printmaking.

En plein air has been the focus of his artistic process for the last ten years. The landscape has motivated Micah to live a life more connected and concerned with the earth. A passionate gardener and animal lover, Micah hopes to have a farm one day where he can draw his plants and animals all day, every day. Tending and caring for the land and its critters is a passion, his artwork has created.
